Statement from State Sen. Ed Charbonneau

State Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Braun's 2025 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 29, 2025) – "I am pleased to see Gov. Braun taking initiative to address one of the most significant issues Hoosiers are facing: property taxes. As reflected in the Senate Republican priority bill, Senate Bill 1, our caucus shares a common goal in seeking ways to offer property tax relief throughout the state.

"As one of the authors of Senate Bill 2, another Senate Republican priority this session, I am also looking to contain our Medicaid costs. SB 2 would start the process of better managing these costs by ensuring only those who need it most can continue to use this program.

"As chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Provider Services, I am also reviewing a number of bills regarding health care issues, including the 340B drug program, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and physician noncompete contracts.

"I look forward to working with the governor and my fellow legislators on these and many other bills that directly impact the lives of Hoosiers across the state."
