Statement from State Sen. Ron Alting

State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) made the following statement today regarding

House Enrolled Act 1144:

STATEHOUSE (April 24, 2025) — "I am happy to see language that would have abolished the Carroll County Superior Court removed from House Enrolled Act 1144.

"Both Rep. Heath VanNatter and I worked hard to get that language removed to ensure Carroll County's courts run as smoothly as possible for years to come.

"Rep. VanNatter expressed the many concerns he and I have heard in recent days to the bill's author, and I thank them both for their collaboration to have the language removed.

"I'd like to thank Sheriff Tony Liggett, Delphi Mayor Kamron Yates and local residents for all their efforts to maintain the Carroll County Superior Court."
