Statement from State Sen. Daryl Schmitt

State Sen. Daryl Schmitt (R-Jasper) made the following statement today in response to recent flooding in southern Indiana:

STATEHOUSE (April 8, 2025) – "With the recent heavy rains that have impacted southern Indiana, many areas throughout the region have experienced flooding along creeks and rivers.

"I will continue to monitor the flooding throughout the area and work with local and state officials to ensure resources get to those in need.

"As always, I encourage motorists driving through the area to use caution and turn around if they encounter water over a roadway.

"Anyone who needs assistance is encouraged to reach out to Indiana 211 by dialing 2-1-1 or 866-211-9966 or visiting in.211communityos.org.

"Hoosiers care about their neighbors, and I know our region will work together to ensure everyone is safe and can recover from this flooding."
