Indiana Senate Republicans are now accepting internship applications for the 2025 legislative session.
This internship gives young professionals a great opportunity to learn about state government and the legislative process, as well as engage in their community and build their professional network.
One opportunity is the policy internship, which connects interns with the policy team in the Senate Republican Communications Office to analyze bills throughout the legislative process.
The policy office also conducts legislative and policy research, writes memos on legislation, reviews written communication for accuracy and attends committee hearings throughout session.
The policy internship is ideal for, but not limited to, any student seeking a political science, public policy or law degree.
Candidates must be at least a college sophomore, recent college graduate, graduate student or law school student. Students and recent graduates with or seeking any degree can apply.
Those selected earn a $900 biweekly stipend and can gain scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development and networking.
Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in Indianapolis that typically start with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January and conclude at the end of the 2025 legislative session in April.
The deadline to apply for the internship program is Oct. 31.
