STATEHOUSE (March 13, 2025) — State Sen. Linda Rogers (R-Granger) joined legislators from both chambers on Wednesday, March 12 for the initial meeting of the Small-Business Caucus, a new bipartisan initiative aimed at addressing the needs of Indiana’s small-business community.
The caucus is co-chaired by Sens. Rogers and David Niezgodski (D-South Bend) and Reps. Craig Snow (R-Warsaw) and Justin Moed (D-Indianapolis). The co-chairs worked with the Indiana Builders Association and the National Federation of Independent Business to organize this meeting.
“With more than 500,000 small businesses employing 1.2 million Hoosiers throughout the state, small businesses are the backbone of Indiana’s economy. This caucus is an opportunity for lawmakers and business leaders to work together to address the challenges facing entrepreneurs and small-business owners across the state," Rogers said. "I am so pleased we had such an excellent turnout for our inaugural meeting and hope legislators use these meetings to collaborate on different ideas to help small-business owners and workers throughout the state."
Legislators in attendance heard remarks from Gov. Mike Braun and Indiana Secretary of Management and Budget Lisa Hershman and had the opportunity to ask each of them questions.
“Hearing from leaders like Secretary Hershman and Gov. Braun is an honor, especially when both of them have grown such wonderful small businesses," Rogers said. "They serve as great examples of leaders in the small-business world, and I am thankful they were able to join us."
Rogers encourages residents of Senate District 11 to contact her with any questions or comments they may have. Rogers can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Rogers or by phone at 800-382-9467.
