LEISING JOINS CEREMONIAL SIGNING OF ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY BILL: State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg, center of second row) joins Gov. Eric Holcomb as he ceremonially signs House Enrolled Act 1007 into law at the Statehouse Monday, May 22.
Effective on July 1, the law addresses findings reported in the 21st Century Energy Policy Development Task Force by creating a blueprint for Indiana's energy industry to provide reliable energy to Hoosiers. Specifically, HEA 1007 directs the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to consider reliability, affordability, resiliency, stability and environmental sustainability in its decision-making process.
