STATEHOUSE (Dec. 6, 2024) – State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) has been reappointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development for the 124th Indiana General Assembly.
Raatz will also serve as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and the School Funding Subcommittee.
"Indiana's K-12 schools account for nearly half the state's two-year budget," Raatz said. "I look forward to continuing my work as chair of the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development and as a member of the Appropriations committee and the School Funding Subcommittee as we discuss ways to ensure our state's schools are serving the needs of today's Hoosier students."

The 2025 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 19. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 8.
