STATEHOUSE (Feb. 12, 2025) – Jovi Taylor is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session, said State Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso).
Taylor, a resident of Portage, is the daughter of Jim and Karey Taylor. Taylor graduated from Portage High School and is a junior at Ball State University studying mass communication and criminal justice.
"It’s great to have interns from our area like Jovi working with us during the legislative session," Charbonneau said. "Interns do a lot to keep the Senate running efficiently, and it would be hard to accomplish so much in such a short period of time without their help, especially during a budget year."
As a press secretary intern, Taylor tracks legislation and media coverage, writes news releases and op-eds, creates e-communication and social media strategies, and works with members of media.
"I am so honored to be a part of the communications team for the Indiana Senate," Taylor said. "This is a dream internship, and I look forward to continuing gaining experience throughout the legislative session."
Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 29.
