Leising: Public invited to event about college saving options

STATEHOUSE (Aug. 2, 2024) — InvestED will host an event at South Ripley High School at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, to discuss saving for a college education, said State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg).

"InvestED has done a lot of great work helping Indiana students and families learn how they can pay for college," said Leising. "This event is sure to be helpful to students and their families looking for help navigating the financial aid process."

The event will cover:

  • Different types of financial aid available through the Federal and State government, as well as institutions;
  • Sections of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form;
  • The process of paying for postsecondary education;
  • How to pick the right school;
  • How to search for scholarships;
  • How to maximize financial aid eligibility; and
  • How to compare college costs.

More information on InvestED can be found on their website.
