STATEHOUSE (March 6, 2025) — Communities in Senate District 42 will receive more than $13.7 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 42, the following communities received grants:

  • Batesville received $951,648.35;
  • Connersville received $389,162.22;
  • Decatur County received $1,499,421.53;
  • Fayette County received $1.5 million;
  • Franklin County received $1,122,791.40;
  • Greensburg received $1,105,072.67;
  • Jennings County received $1.5 million;
  • Laurel received $73,994.99;
  • Millhousen received $77,664.12;
  • North Vernon received $1,468,391.15;
  • Osgood received $1,256,360.10;
  • Ripley County received $1,497,866.94; and
  • Shelby County received $1,298,020.96.

"The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program has done great work helping our local communities improve their infrastructure and supporting our local economy," Leising said. "I am pleased to see local leaders taking advantage of this opportunity, and I look forward to seeing how it impacts our community."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1.5 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match, while counties with populations greater than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.

The CCMG offers two rounds of applications each year, with the next call for applications occurring in July of 2025.
