STATEHOUSE (Feb. 3, 2025) — A resolution authored by State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) honoring two Vigo County Public Library employees unanimously passed the Senate today.
Senate Resolution 18 honors Bonnie McNair and Lauren Hackert, who have each worked at the library for many years.
McNair battled chronic kidney disease for many years, starting dialysis in May 2022 and searching for a kidney donor. After learning McNair was searching for a kidney, Hackert got screened to see if she was a match for McNair. Once Hackert was determined as a match, she decided to donate one of her kidneys to McNair.
"The love and compassion Lauren showed for her friend and colleague is an example of the Hoosier spirit that I'm proud to represent," Goode said. "Now, a year after their successful February 2024 operation, both of these wonderful women are healthy and working to brighten the Wabash Valley every day."
Goode encourages residents of Senate District 38 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Goode can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Goode or by phone at 800-382-9467.
