Goode named co-chair of General Assembly's defense caucus

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 26, 2025) – State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as co-chair of the Indiana General Assembly's defense caucus.

The defense caucus was created to identify and propose opportunities to support Indiana's defense sector.

"As home of the 181st Intelligence Wing at Terre Haute Air National Guard Base, the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division – the nation's third largest naval base – and other military installations across the state, Indiana is well positioned to support our nation's defense industry," Goode said. "It is an honor to be selected for this role and I thank Sen. Bray for putting his trust in me to help lead this caucus."

One in five Hoosiers work in advanced manufacturing, and Indiana has the nation's sixth largest aerospace manufacturing industry. With the 181st Intelligence Wing and several colleges and universities located in the Wabash Valley, Goode's district serves as an example of how the defense industry can add to a region's economic stability.

"Sen. Goode has worked hard during his time in the Senate and beyond to attract investment to the state and, specifically, the Wabash Valley," Bray said. "That's why I asked him to chair the defense caucus – because I know he will use his knowledge of economic development with our defense partners across Indiana."

Goode encourages residents of Senate District 38 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Goode can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Goode or by phone at 800-382-9467.
