Dernulc: Bill to amend requirements for PTABOA members passes House

STATEHOUSE (March 31, 2025) A bill authored by State Sen. Dan Dernulc (R-Highland) that would amend the requirements for Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals (PTABOA) members passed the House of Representatives unanimously today.

Senate Enrolled Act 187 would amend the requirements for PTABOA members to ensure those on the board are residents of Indiana.

"I am extremely happy to see this important piece of legislation successfully pass the Indiana General Assembly," Dernulc said. "Having only Indiana residents serve as members of our Indiana PTABOAs will ensure we have equal and fair property tax assessments from Hoosiers who live in our state. I look forward to seeing these membership changes positively affect communities in Indiana."

SEA 187 now moves to the governor's desk for final consideration.
