DePauw student gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 18, 2025) – Benjamin Gale is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session, said State Sen. Brett Clark (R-Avon).

Gale, a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, is the son of Brent and Karen Gale. Gale graduated from Plainwell High School and is a junior at DePauw University studying philosophy and pre-law.

"Interns like Benjamin are very helpful to the function of the Senate,” Clark said. "This internship fosters so many opportunities, and it is great to have a DePauw student representing his university well here at the Statehouse."

As a legislative intern, Gale tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

"I am excited to further my professional development and work with Indiana senators for a better future," Gale said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 29.
