Buchanan: Communities in Senate District 7 receive nearly $8.8 million in road-funding grants

STATEHOUSE (March 6, 2025) — Communities in Senate District 7 will receive nearly $8.8 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Brian Buchanan (R-Lebanon).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 7, the following communities received grants:

• Boone County received $426,507.50;
• Brownsburg received $1,012,170.60;
• Clinton County received $1.5 million;
• Colfax received $97,338.74;
• Crawfordsville received $688,176.80;
• Frankfort received $449,068.44;
• Hendricks County received $1.5 million;
• Michigantown received $105,827.25;
• Montgomery County received $1.5 million;
• New Market received $290,187.75;
• Pittsboro received $397,546.49;
• Ulen received $68,718.75; and
• Zionsville received $740,282.50.

"When we invest in strengthening our state's infrastructure, we are taking the necessary steps to uplift local communities and improve the quality of life for the future of rural and small town Indiana," Buchanan said. "The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program plays an important role in helping ensure our roadways are safe for locals and visitors."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1.5 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match, while counties with populations greater than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.
