Alting to present Sagamore of the Wabash to World War II veterans

STATEHOUSE (Aug. 12, 2024) – State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) will present Sagamore of the Wabash awards to two World War II veterans turning 100 years old.

Alting will present the awards to James "Red" Winget and Bill J. Crane.

"Our World War II veterans are members of the greatest generation of Americans who helped free millions from tyranny across the world," Alting said. "Honoring Bill and James with the state's highest award a citizen can receive is merely a small token of appreciation we can offer these great men in recognition of their tremendous sacrifices."
