Agricultural Portal to Assist Hoosier Farmers

Agricultural Portal to Assist Hoosier Farmers

Hoosier farmers will soon have improved access to agricultural resources thanks to a new law that creates an online agricultural portal.

This session, Senate Republicans were proud to support House Enrolled Act 1149, which creates an online portal to streamline information for Indiana farmers by helping them navigate state and federal agricultural resources, grant opportunities, regulatory checklists and updated inventory on lost farmland.

Created and maintained by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), this portal will also provide updates on agricultural reports and allow farmers the opportunity to give feedback on ISDA services and operations.

Hoosier farmers contribute millions of dollars to our economy and continue to support its growth through their hard work and dedication. With this law, we can give our farmers more support through resources that will hopefully make their jobs a bit easier, as well as extending our thanks for all they do for the great state of Indiana.

HEA 1149 is the first piece of legislation that is part of Gov. Braun's Freedom and Opportunity Agenda to be signed into law. To learn more about this law, click here.
