Zay: Indiana Connectivity Program expanding broadband for more Hoosiers

STATEHOUSE (July 15, 2024) — The Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) recently announced 708 homes and businesses will be receiving high speed internet access through the Indiana Connectivity Program, said State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington).

The program was created in 2021 through Senate Enrolled Act 377, authored by Zay. The law required OCRA to establish the Indiana Broadband Connectivity Portal for Hoosiers to request broadband service. Once service is requested, internet providers can submit bids for a Rural Broadband Grant to bring service to that person or entity's address.

"It is great to see even more homes and business across the state receive much-needed access to high-speed internet," Zay said. "This program helps to improve the quality of life for all Hoosiers, especially those in rural communities, where reliable access to internet is a must. I look forward to seeing the impacts this funding will have on those who receive it."

This round of funding was the largest to date with a total of $3,327,496 awarded to 708 addresses across 38 counties. Of that, two addresses in Grant County will receive broadband access thanks to $9,600 grant from the state for a total investment of $56,974.

Hoosiers without reliable internet access can request service by submitting their information to the Connectivity Portal in one of the following ways:

  • Call 833-639-8522
  • Mail to the following address -
    Attn: Indiana Broadband Connect Center
The Office of Community and Rural Affairs
    1 N. Capitol Ave
    Suite 600
