Statement from State Sen. Stacey Donato

State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Braun's 2025 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 29, 2025) – "Today, Gov. Braun gave his 2025 State of the State address, noting many key issues Hoosiers are facing.

"In particular, I am encouraged to hear him speak on the state of our education system and how we can ensure Hoosier students receive the best education possible.

"One issue I have been working hard on this session is the problem of chronic absenteeism in our schools. I have authored Senate Bill 482 to try to better gather data regarding repeated absences and use this information to find solutions.

"As a member of the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development, I will continue to support legislation that improves our education system in Indiana, allows families the opportunity to choose the education their child receives and provides ways students can get unique hands-on experience in occupational fields.

"I look forward to working with the governor in the future on these and other issues."
