Statement from State Sen. Ryan Mishler

State Sen. Ryan Mishler (R-Mishawaka) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Braun's 2025 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 29, 2025) — "I am pleased to see Gov. Braun stressing the importance of fiscal responsibility in his priorities for the 2025 budget session, as Senate Republicans are championing a number of bills with this same goal, including Senate Bills 1 and 2.

"Senate Bill 1 is our priority bill that we are using to enact meaningful property tax reform, and we will be working closely with the governor and our colleagues in the House of Representatives to accomplish this task.

"Senate Bill 2, which I authored, would implement better controls on Medicaid eligibility and reform the Healthy Indiana Plan to encourage personal responsibility.

"As chair of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, I will be working with Gov. Braun and my fellow legislators to pass a balanced budget and keep Indiana in a strong fiscal position."
