Statement from State Sen. Jeff Raatz

State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) made the following statement today
following the conclusion of the 2022 special session of the Indiana General Assembly:

STATEHOUSE (Aug. 5, 2022) — "Today, the Indiana Senate passed Senate Enrolled Act 1 (ss) and Senate Enrolled Act 2 (ss) to protect life, support pregnant and new mothers and their families, provide financial relief for Hoosiers and pay down state debt.

"These contentious issues were extremely difficult to debate, however, we have taken a monumental step in protecting unborn Hoosiers while ensuring families have the resources they need and the means to raise happy, healthy families in a post-Roe world.

"In doing so, I believe Hoosiers continue to call Indiana a home they can feel supported leading fulfilling lives in."
