Statement from State Sen. Brian Buchanan

State Sen. Brian Buchanan (R-Lebanon) made the following statement today in response to
Gov. Mike Braun's 2025 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 29, 2025) – "In recent years, Hoosiers have been clear that they want protection from large year-over-year increases in their property taxes.

"That's why I was glad to hear Gov. Braun discussing our common goal to offer property tax relief for Hoosiers and look forward to working on two bills I have authored to help lower property taxes.

"Senate Bill 7 aims to reduce property tax for Hoosier farmers while Senate Bill 8 would streamline the school referendum process.

"This year I am determined to work with the governor and my colleagues to bring meaningful property tax relief for Hoosiers across Indiana."
