Statement from State Sen. Blake Doriot

State Sen. Blake Doriot (R-Goshen) made the following statement regarding the conclusion of the 2025 legislative session:

STATEHOUSE (April 25, 2025) – "Despite the hurdles we faced this session and the concerning revenue forecast earlier this month, Senate Republicans passed a responsible, balanced state budget for 2026-27. Though cuts were made, we did our best to make them in a fair way and ensure priorities, such as K-12 education and Medicaid, were still fully funded.

"I also authored a bill that ensures Indiana's elections are secure and accurate by prohibiting the use of student IDs as a form of voter identification and requires improved voter list maintenance. In addition, I authored a bill to support our local industries by requiring RV dealers and manufacturers to enter a written agreement for RV sales and establish clear guidelines in place for these agreements. The bill also codifies the existing practice of prohibiting the sale of motorized RVs on Sundays, except at a trade show.

"I am pleased with the work completed this session, and I look forward to interacting with my constituents and fellow lawmakers this summer to continue finding ways to improve the lives of Hoosiers in our community and across the state."
