The Indiana Senate is accepting internship applications for the 2025 legislative session.
This internship gives young professionals a great opportunity to learn about state government and the legislative process, as well as engage in their community and build their professional network.
The Senate Republicans' Communications Office offers press secretary internships to eligible applicants.
Press secretary interns work with full-time press secretaries to track legislation and media coverage, write news releases, create e-newsletters, photograph committee and session meetings, and work with members of the media.
Interns also have the opportunity to work with senators and see how legislation is crafted in the Indiana General Assembly.
This position is great for, but not limited to, students currently seeking or who already have communications, public relations or journalism experience.
Candidates must be at least a college sophomore, recent college graduate, graduate student or law school student. Students and recent graduates of any degree program can apply.
Those selected earn a $900 biweekly stipend and can gain scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development and networking.
Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in Indianapolis that typically start with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January and conclude at the end of the 2025 legislative session in April.
The deadline to apply for the internship program is Oct. 31.
