Sen. Tomes welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (April 21, 2025) – State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) welcomed Mater Dei High School student Samuel Heldt to the Statehouse who served as a Senate page in March.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"Meeting students like Samuel who are interested in state government and getting to teach them about my work as a senator is one of my favorite parts of the legislative session," Tomes said. "I encourage all students in the community to consider signing up for the next session to participate in this unique experience."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.

The 2025 Senate Page program has now ended. Parents interested in signing up their child for the 2026 program should visit www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Page-Program at the end of 2025 for more information. More information about the Senate Page Program is also available on this site.
