Sen. Bray welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 28, 2025) – State Sen. Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January and February.

  • Alex Alcala, from Mooresville, attends Mooresville Christian Academy
  • Phoebe Batts, from Greenwood, attends Center Grove Middle School North
  • Laynie Cole, from Martinsville, attends Martinsville High School
  • Charlee Cramer, from Bargersville, attends Franklin Community High School
  • Chloe Denney, from Greenwood, attends Center Grove High School
  • Ezra Harkins, from Mooresville, is a homeschooled student
  • Brynn Harper, from Martinsville, attends Martinsville High School
  • Patrick Lackey, from Trafalgar, is a homeschooled student
  • Hudson Mechenich, from Martinsville, is a homeschooled student
  • Simon Messmer, from Mooresville, is a homeschooled student

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It's always nice to help young Hoosiers navigate their interest in state government through our Page Program," Bray said. "The Senate Page Program gives our future leaders an important connection to their legislature that goes beyond the classroom, and I look forward to meeting more students as session progresses."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
