Rogers: General Assembly meets for first session day of 2025

Rogers: General Assembly meets for first session day of 2025

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 8, 2025) — While the 124th session ceremonially began on Organization Day in November, state lawmakers return to the statehouse to work on legislation in January. By state law, the 2025 session will conclude on or before April 29.

"I am happy to be back at the Statehouse and, as the chair of the Senate Committee on Pensions and Labor, I am looking forward to reviewing and discussing legislation that my colleagues and I have been working on during the summer and fall of last year," Rogers said. "This session, I am working on a number of bills covering various topics, including education and property taxes. I am also continuing my work on expanding the accessibility of automated external defibrillators in schools."

During the first session of each General Assembly, lawmakers craft a comprehensive budget to fund government services for the next two fiscal years.

As the 2025 session gets underway, Rogers encourages residents of Senate District 11 to contact her with any questions or comments they may have. Rogers can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Rogers or by phone at 800-382-9467.
