Pioneer Jr./Sr. High School graduate gains experience
at Indiana Statehouse
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 14, 2025) – Ilene Alpha is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session, said State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport).
Alpha, a resident of Logansport, is the daughter of Robert and Angela Alpha. Alpha graduated from Pioneer Jr./Sr. High School and is a junior at Purdue University studying political science.
"One of the best parts of session is getting to work with our new intern class," Donato said. "They are a crucial part of helping the legislative session run smoothy, and it is great to see students from our local community coming to the Statehouse to gain professional experience."
As a legislative intern, Alpha tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to assist our state senators as they work on crafting legislation this session," Alpha said.
Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 29.
