Martinsville High School graduate gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 18, 2025) – Elijah Roberson is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session, said Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville).

Roberson, a resident of Martinsville, is the son of Dean and Lise Roberson. Roberson graduated from Martinsville High School and is a graduate of Franklin College with a degree in public relations.

"I've known Elijah's family for a long time, and he even paged for me in the Senate in 2018," Bray said. "It's great to see him grow and develop and take that next big step by becoming an intern here in the Statehouse."

As a press secretary intern, Roberson tracks legislation and media coverage, writes news releases and op-eds, creates e-communication and social media strategies, and works with members of the media.

"I am excited to work in the communications department of the Indiana Senate," Roberson said. "This internship has already given me a lot of good experience, and I am excited to make a lot of connections as I begin my professional career."

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 29.
