at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 8, 2025) – Deion Guise is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session, said State Sen. Travis Holdman (R-Markle).

Guise, a resident of Decatur, is the son of Nathan and Danielle York. Guise graduated from Bellmont High School and is a junior at Indiana University Indianapolis studying political science.

"Interns are extremely helpful to legislators during a busy session," Holdman said. "It is such a pleasure having Adams County native Deion as my intern this session. I am looking forward to getting to know him better as we work together over the next few months. I appreciate him being a great representative of our local community here at the Statehouse."

As a legislative intern, Guise tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

"I am really looking forward to this unique learning experience working with my state government," Guise said. "I am proud to be assisting Senator Holdman and the rest of the Senate majority caucus during the 2025 legislative session and am eager to see what all I will gain from this internship."

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 28.
