Goode: Indiana Endless Frontiers bill to increase transparency for regional economic development presented to committee

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 23, 2025) — A bill authored by State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) that would improve transparency for regional economic development activities by calling for definite planning and reviewing of requirements, was heard by the Senate Committee on Appropriations today.

Senate Bill 377 would improve transparency surrounding funding commitments, ensuring more public disclosures and increase review to ensure tax dollars invested in economic development are spent wisely.

"This bill recognizes the contributions of Hoosiers to our state's workforce and promotes the investment in Indiana's future in emerging fields of tech, sciences and Artificial Intelligence," Goode said. "As these new prominent industries grow, it is crucial we offer transparency on the state's regional development activity."

SB 377 would enhance Indiana's regional economic development and capitalize on reliable relationships between the regional development authority responsible for the pre-funding process and working Hoosiers.

Goode encourages residents of Senate District 38 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Goode can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Goode or by phone at 800-382-9467.
