Goode honors Dr. David Bowden on Senate floor

STATEHOUSE (March 17, 2025) — State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) honored Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra (THSO) artistic director and conductor Dr. David Bowden today on the Senate floor.

Senate Resolution 42 recognizes Dr. Bowden for his decades of conducting orchestras throughout Indiana.

In addition to his role with the THSO, which he has served in since 1997, Dr. Bowden founded the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic in 1987 and served as its music director and conductor until 2022. He also served as the music director for the Carmel Symphony Orchestra from 1999 until 2016.

"Dr. Bowden's passion for music has led to continued growth of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra over his three decades of leadership," Goode said. "His impact on the orchestra will continue for years into the future, and I'd like to thank him for everything he's done for the local orchestra and our community. He has touched countless people through music and his incredible leadership."

Dr. Bowden will retire as the THSO's artistic director on June 30.

Goode encourages residents of Senate District 38 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Goode can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Goode or by phone at 800-382-9467.
