STATEHOUSE (March 6, 2025) — Communities in Senate District 13 will receive more than $11 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Sue Glick (R-LaGrange).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 13, the following communities received grants:

  • Albion received $713,985.75;
  • Ashley received $441,000;
  • Auburn received $1.5 million;
  • Fremont received $1.5 million;
  • LaGrange received $1.5 million;
  • LaGrange County received $1.5 million;
  • Noble County received $1.5 million;
  • Steuben County received $1.5 million; and
  • Topeka received $975,000.

"We are a rural agricultural community," Glick said. "The roads in Senate District 13 are used to transport manufactured products and heavy farm equipment, and it is necessary to have an infrastructure system that supports these needs. I commend our local leaders for taking advantage of the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program and look forward to the improvements that will come from this funding."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1.5 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match, while counties with populations greater than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.
