STATEHOUSE (Dec. 4, 2024) – State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) has been reappointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law for the 124th Indiana General Assembly.
Freeman will also serve as a member of the following Senate committees:
"The state of crime in Indianapolis is unacceptable," Freeman said. "There are many topics I am eager to explore with my colleagues this upcoming session, and as the chair of Correction and Criminal Law, I plan to be tough on crime and look at ways to help the great men and women of IMPD obtain the resources they need to keep our city safe."

The 2025 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 19. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 8.
