Deery named to Senate committees

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 4, 2024) – State Sen. Spencer Deery (R-West Lafayette) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve on four committees for the 124th Indiana General Assembly.

Deery will serve as a member of the following Senate committees:

  • Commerce and Technology;
  • Education and Career Development;
  • Health and Provider Services; and
  • Utilities.

"Senators have the most opportunity to shape public policy through the committee process," Deery said. "I am honored to have been asked to bring my judgment and expertise to these four committees that will consider bills on some of the most important issues facing Hoosiers. My goal in each is to preserve our liberties and to keep state policies from impeding or neglecting Hoosiers in their personal efforts to live healthy, fulfilling lives."

This will be the first session Deery is serving on the Health and Provider Services committee while the other assignments are unchanged from Deery's first two sessions as a State Senator.

Committee hearings can be viewed online by visiting iga.in.gov. Legislative calendars, agendas, vote tallies and proposed legislation can also be found on this site.

The 2025 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 19. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 8.
