Crider to chair Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Transportation

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 4, 2024) – State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield) has been reappointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Transportation for the 124th Indiana General Assembly.

Crider will also serve as a member of the following Senate committees:

  • Appropriations;
  • Health and Provider Services;
  • Joint Rules;
  • Rules and Legislative Procedure; and
  • Veterans Affairs and The Military (ranking member).

"As an experienced chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Transportation, I look forward to another year of improving Indiana's infrastructure and roads," Crider said. "These committees are an important part of the lawmaking process, as they allow committee members and field experts to closely vet bill ideas before they are considered by the full Senate. This ensures the best possible proposal goes forward in the legislative process."

Committee hearings can be viewed online by visiting iga.in.gov. Legislative calendars, agendas, vote tallies and proposed legislation can also be found on this site.

The 2025 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 19. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 8.
