Purdue University student gains experience
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 14, 2025) – Kishan Gorur is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session, said State Sen. Jim Buck (R-Kokomo).
Gorur, a resident of Westfield, is the son of Shesh and Archana Gorur. Gorur graduated from Westford Academy in Massachusetts and is a senior at Purdue University studying economics and classical studies.
"Interns play a vital role in helping the Senate during a busy legislative session," Buck said. "There is no better place than the Statehouse for students to gain professional experience. It is great to see students like Kishan taking part in this opportunity."
As a legislative intern, Gorur tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.
"I could not be more grateful for the opportunity of public service," Gorur said.
Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by April 29.
