Bassler to chair Senate Committee on Ethics, School Funding Subcommittee

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 4, 2024) – State Sen. Eric Bassler (R-Washington) has been reappointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Ethics and the School Funding Subcommittee for the 124th Indiana General Assembly.

Bassler will also serve as a member of the following Senate committees:

  • Appropriations;
  • Environmental Affairs; and
  • Rules and Legislative Procedure.

"I am honored to serve as the chair of the Senate Committee on Ethics and the School Funding Subcommittee during the upcoming session," Bassler said. "With nearly half the state's budget allocated for K-12 funding, I look forward to working with my colleagues to discuss school funding this upcoming session as the General Assembly crafts a two-year budget."

The 2025 legislative session ceremonially began with Organization Day on Nov. 19. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene for session Jan. 8.
