A Statement from State Sen. Scott Baldwin
State Sen. Scott Baldwin (R-Noblesville) made the following statement today responding to his amendment added to Senate Bill 324:

"This week, I presented an amendment to Senate Bill 324 that would increase penalties for fleeing from law enforcement in a motorized vehicle and causing bodily injury or death.

"My amendment to SB 324 targets the increased number of fatal accidents that have occurred in recent years due to individuals fleeing from law enforcement in a vehicle. This bill would keep the public safer while traveling and hold those accountable who have caused serious accidents that could have been prevented.

"It is my hope that this bill will help protect what matters most, our Hoosier families. The recent tragedy in Plainfield highlights the need for stricter sanctions on this dangerous and violent behavior."
